It's been awhile since I have posted...
Probably because I feel I have nothing new or exciting to write.
So this post is about us getting out of debt,
this is a part 1 we still have a ways to go.
Our debt story;
Back in 2009 Adam and I graduated from college we had gov. help and parental help (lots)
to help us graduate debt free... or so we thought.
In Nov. 2009 we went to go buy a house and found out we had over $10,000 in student loans.
(Not a pleasant thing to find out)
We started to pay those off. We were doing really good and then the vet school journey started.
Meaning back to school with more student loans.
We moved to Logan Utah and then got into credit card debt because Adam couldn't find a job.
I was so stressed.
Thankfully Adam now has a job and because we made wise financial decisions before we could lean on our credit card.
We now as of this day only have about $750.00 of credit card debt left and I plan on paying it off by the end of the month. I can't even explain how good it feels.
In order to get out of debt I had to watch our expenses and bills closely...
My home management notebook
The money I have been pouring into our credit card payment is now going to go towards more student loans... which as of right now is about $13,800.00. Adam didn't get into vet school this year :(
however, we are seeing this as a blessing in disguise because now we can pay off stupid undergrad debt. Vet school is very expensive and I am hoping that both of us can have part time jobs by next fall so that we can pay for everything else and NOT have to use that credit card.
Anyone else working on student loans? I know ours isn't even that bad compared to others but man oh man was it a shocker to find out we had debt when we thought we didn't!
